About Us

Chris Murphy is the founder and Director of Synthesis Trainers and Consultants.

Chris has over 30 years experience in administration and education. He has held a number of senior positions within educational institutions and worked in such diverse areas as special needs infants through to troubled youth programs.

Outside of the education arena, Chris was the Chief Executive Officer of the Victims of Crime Association of Queensland. He was the public voice for victims and a strong advocate for victim rights. He has been a regular on TV, radio and in the print media both in Queensland and nationwide.

Just for some diversity, Chris has worked as a labourer on building sites, a contract commercial cleaner and a landscape gardener! He has also held such positions as a Senior Administration Officer for Legal Aid Queensland, Administration Manager for the Queensland Division of Conservation, Strategic Planning Coordinator (Government Compliance) with the Australian Taxation Office and head of Corporate Taxation with Education Queensland.

Within the wider community, he has been the President of the local Parents and Citizens Association, a member of the board of Victim Support Services Ltd; a national registered charity and is a former President (and Life Member) of the Association of Child Care Professionals Incorporated. Chris has also been the Licensee of a large Outside School Hours Care Service and has managed a number of childcare centres.

He has twice been honoured with Australia Day Achievement Awards.

Chris holds tertiary qualifications in Management, Occupational Health and Safety, Quality Auditing and Workplace Training and Assessment.

He is a member of the International Association of Safety Professionals and the Fire Protection Association of Australia. Chris is a qualified Food Safety Supervisor, a qualified Fire Safety Adviser and was registered with the Queensland Building and Construction Commission in Emergency Procedures.
