Fire Safety Services

All workplaces in Queensland are required by law to provide Fire Safety training to all staff at least annually and for new staff within a month of starting work.


Is your fire safety training up to date?  


This program provides the training required and is specifically designed for the Community, Education and Early Learning sectors.   


Don’t get caught out paying for training that isn’t actually needed!


Our training is conducted by qualified Fire Safety Advisers who are specialists in Emergency Procedures.

Evacuation Signs, Diagrams and Plans

There is a lot of confusion over the requirements for compliance with the Queensland Building (Fire Safety) Regulations 2008.


The following is a (hopefully) simple explanation of the terms and requirements.

  

It is important to note that your compliance in these areas is generally NOT checked by the person who services your fire extinguishers.


Evacuation Signs and Diagrams

 

These are the signs that go on your wall to show the evacuation routes and other fire safety information.


Like all other areas of Fire Safety, there are now very specific requirements for signs and diagrams.


If you have not had your evacuation signs reviewed in accordance with the new regulations, then they probably don’t comply!


Fire and Evacuation Plan


A Fire and evacuation plan is a written document that must be kept in a specific form and be available for inspection at any time. To comply, your plan must contain:

In instances where a number of persons fill a position across rotational shifts, The Queensland Fire and Rescue Service will accept a position title rather than person’s name. For example ‘Certified Supervisor” may be listed as the Evacuation Coordinator or the responsible person.
